OMA Associate Reports To | Supervisor OMA Seniors and above within the OMA Team
Summary of Job Function LGA, a progressive Woburn-based CPA firm prioritizing culture and its people, is seeking a positive and energetic self-driven individual to join our growing Outsourced Management Accounting (OMA) team. Team members in LGA's OMA department are responsible for providing bookkeeping and accounting services to our clients. This position combines performing accounting tasks, leveraging technology with developing client relationships. LGA is seeking a current college student or recent college graduate that would like to enter public accounting to begin their career in an accounting-related field. The benefits of this position are working in a CPA firm with great resources to service a variety of clients from start-ups to mature businesses in a variety of industries and be part of their Finance Team.
This is also great opportunity for candidates who have recent public accounting experience in audit or tax and who are looking to get out of the compliance world, but still enjoy the diversity and variety of client service and relationships or a candidate in industry that enjoys all aspects of the accounting cycle but is not challenged with the routine nature that exists in private accounting.
Essential Job Duties - Performing a variety of accounting functions while learning and gaining experiences in the area of bookkeeping, accounting, and technology
- Knowledge of QuickBooks or the desire to learn
- Preparing workpapers to support account balances.
- Preparing month-end closings including the reconciliations and recording of adjusting journal entries, as needed.
- Preparing of Financial and Management level reporting
- Participate in the preparation of financial reports to produce a budget to actual analysis, KPIs, and trends that are vital to a business's decision-making process
- Opportunities to interact with the client regularly and develop client relationships with leadership and the accounting teams.

Education and Experience: - Working to obtain or have obtained a BS in Accountancy, or related degree.
Required Qualifications: - Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to interact with various levels of firm management and external clients in both written and verbal form.
- Ability to balance with ease multiple priorities and clients with weekly and monthly deliverables
- Respect for compliance and confidentiality.
- Motivated to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and be flexible in tasks and time with managing your workload with adjustments to your schedule especially during peak workload times in the department.
Proficient in Microsoft 365; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Comfortable working with technology and operating in a paperless office
